Stock Up Now

Whether or not a disaster strikes, your family will need supplies next month and the month after. Why not stock up now? Stock up gradually during normal shopping trips, to allow merchants to replenish.

The retail industry, geared toward just-in-time delivery, is not designed to handle heavy demand. It is up to the public to be ready. You will need the stuff anyway.

A moral duty to stock up

Just as folks have a moral duty to look for a job instead of relying on hand-outs, folks have a moral duty to stock up to avoid depending on relief services. They might not have enough and you will be taking what could be given to others, causing them to suffer.
